The Lion Brought to Life

The Lion Brought to Life

Once upon a time, in a distant land, four learned Brahmins decided to travel abroad to seek the favor of Kings with their knowledge and earn grand rewards. Three were masters of every known science but lacked the simplicity of wisdom. The fourth, although not versed in scholarly texts, was abundant in commonsense. Alas, their journey had barely begun when doubts were cast upon the utility of commonsense alone.

“Let us part ways with our friend of mere commonsense,” suggested the eldest. “No King will reward impractical wisdom.” Thus, they confronted the commonsense Brahmin, asking him to return home. Yet, it was agreed that he should accompany them, hoping his presence would eventually prove beneficial.

And so, the quartet ventured deep into an enchanting forest, where the bones of a majestic lion lay. An idea struck them: they could demonstrate their learning by restoring life to this great beast. One could assemble its bones, another recreate its flesh, and the third, daring as they were, breathe life into the still form. But the Brahmin of commonsense protested, foreseeing the perils of such a spectacle, stretching far beyond the bounds of wisdom.
